As some of you know… i was in the 2004 Tsunami in Thailand. I have quite some stories to tell. Stuff that you won’t believe…. But i’m not gonna bother you with it. Below is an impression from my small pocket camera (a Casio Exilim). Besides my life, the only material thing that i had left.
My friend Yariv (a.k.a Robbie, the bald guy on the photos) and I were doing rescue work with the Thai Army and the Princess Red Cross. Also we did some projects like helping repairing the fishing boats, building shelters, getting food distributed and many many more things. In the end, we ended up building a complete village (12 houses) and 6 fishing boats. Oh yes and a pier. 🙂
I’ve been in shit, in life-and-death situations, cycloons, floodings, etc. But this, this experience was a true eye opener for me and changed the course of my life indefinitely. Also because of the fact that i was about to loose my life for the 3rd time. I’ve been dead, like really dead, flat line…, 2 times. No need for a 3rd time.
The images are unedited. Normally i would do tons of post processing but for this post i wanted to keep it as is. SOC. Raw, so you can see and feel what it was like. Most of the photos shot after the ‘Big Clean Up’. So no piles of dead bodies, etc. (i got photos from that too, but i think is not appropriate to post them).
