My Favorite DSLR set up

I love and hate Canon. Really. When I learned about photography I started with a Canon. In the years after I shot with MFT (Olympus), Fujifilm, Nikon (APS-C and FF) and more Canon stuff.

What I love about Canon is the color and the ease of use of the cameras. Also they are reliable and AF is pretty good. Build like a rock, weather sealed, etc. But heavy. What I hate the most about Canon is that their sensors lack detail and dynamic range. So when do you need dynamic range ? Contrasty situations in landscapes, street photography, event photography to name a few. I did some comparison and my Fuji X-M1 have more DR than for example my Canon 70D. I can lift shadows and decrease highlights much much more that with the Canon. Also the files from Fuji are far more flexible than Canon. And that is what you need in post-processing.

On the other hand, the focussing of the Canon is faster than Fuji and more reliable. And so we can make up a balance.

Still my favorite set up for a DSLR is still Canon.

6D body, Tamron 15-30mm 2.8, 24-70mm 2.8, 70-200mm 2.8 macro. Sigma 35mm 1.4 A and as last one Sigma 50mm 1.4 A.

The 6D because its an all round camera. Great low light AF and performance, actually better than the 5D Mk3. Great image quality. Weather sealed.

The Tamron lenses because they perform very very well on the 6D. Results, I think, are better than the Canon lenses.

The Sigma lenses, are just the best in class and for that money Canon have no answer.

There are some more lenses that I like to add, like the Rokinon 14mm mf and Mitakon speedmasters.
