Fujifilm GFX 50S

Last year and even this year a lot of brands released new cameras.  One that really stands out is the Fujifilm GFX 50S. A so called medium format mirrorless camera.

Since the announcement was made that Hasselblad and Fujifilm were developing a medium format mirrorless system expectations where high. And did they deliver ? Yes, and especially Fujifilm surely did.

Various photography websites have reviewed the Fujifilm GFX50S and man, what a camera !! This is my dream camera and if I ever have enough money to afford a medium format system, this will be the one.

Below some links to various websites who tested the new Fujifilm GFX50S.

I’m not gonna write about specs and other things. You can find anything you need to know in the links above. Or look at the Fujifilm Website so you get all info first hand. 🙂

A beast of a camera that suits my needs… now i need a beast of a bank account to pay for it 🙂

I think this the way that digital photography is going. My guess is that Sony will enter this market too. The Fujifilm is, compared to the Hasselblad, more affordable but still it is quite a lot of money. But compare to this: A Canon 1DX Mk2 is about 6399 Euro. (price: Kameraexpress.nl, The Netherlands). Add a 24-70mm Mk2 L series lens to it (plus: 1967 Euro). That’s 8366 Euro. Now the Fujifilm GFX50S as a kit with lens (63mm F2.8) retails here for: 8598 Euro. So that is not to far of the Canon.

Yes I know…. the Canon can do more, but it is not MF.  I really think that this is a new market for high end photo equipment. In the next coming years more players and more models for lower prices will come.
