Candlelight

Some shots of candlelight. Shot with a Canon 70D and 18-135mm STM. Handheld.

With candlelight it is very important where to focus and meter the scene. The focus on these photos is all on the flame, brightest part. ISO is about 400 to 800, F5.0 and F5.6. Focal length 85 to 100mm. EV about -1.

When you shoot candlelight focus on the flame or on the flame touching the side of the candle. The rest of the image get dark, and with the -1 EV under exposure you keep the flame from not blowing out.

Try it. Its fun and if the wife is there, it can be romantic too 🙂
